Her music is contemporary and innovative but audiences rave about her music. Ms. Tedder has been composing and arranging for thirty years and Altessa is extremely pleased to offer you an exciting array of her work. Altessa is particularly proud to offer With Malice Toward None—Abraham Lincoln, An American Icon. This five-movement choral cantata for SATB choir, SATB soli, piano, tympani and brass is an excellent choice for choirs as they plan to celebrate the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial over the next two years. The music of Chiquinha Gonzaga, an extraordinary and remarkable composer from Brazil, is available for the FIRST time in the American music arena. Altessa plans to continue to publish her music and melodies. Gonzaga was powerful influence on Brazilian music in the last century, and it is a major accomplishment to introduce her to American audiences. The Piano Concert in C Minor by Helen Eugenia Hagan, edited by Tedder and orchestrated by Jezimar Norberto, is available for the first time in 80 years. Hagan composed and performed this concerto in 1912 in New Haven, Connecticut. This was the first known appearance of a large-scale work for orchestra composed by an African-American woman. The reconstruction and publication of this concerto is a significant and extremely important contribution to music history and repertoire for the concert stage. Piano solos, piano duets, choral music, vocal solos, song cycles, jazz suites and masterworks –Altessa wants to meet your music needs. From the studio to the concert stage, Altessa offers contemporary and innovative music that audiences, students, choirs and professional musicians will perform with enjoyment and satisfaction. |
